All Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) meetings are open to the public.

MPO Policy Committee
The MPO Policy Committee is the decision-making body for transportation planning in the Calhoun Area MPO. The committee includes elected officials from:

Voting members also include the EARPDC Executive Director and the ALDOT Fourth Division Engineer.
The MPO Policy Committee meets every other month unless noted otherwise. Meetings are held at 11:00 a.m. and typically occur on the third Thursday of the scheduled month.

Technical Advisory Committee (TAC)
The Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) provides technical advice to the MPO. Members include engineers, planners, transit providers, and staff from member jurisdictions.
The TAC meets every other month, unless noted otherwise. Meetings are held at 10:00 a.m. and typically occur on the second Thursday of the scheduled month.

Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC)
The Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) provides public input on transportation planning and projects. The CAC shares comments and recommendations with the TAC and MPO Policy Committee. The CAC is comprised of over 50 citizens representing the member jurisdictions, with a minimum of three members for smaller jurisdictions and approximately one CAC member for every 1,750 residents in jurisdictions with populations over 5,000.
The CAC meets every other month, unless noted otherwise. Meetings are held at 10:00 a.m. and typically occur on the first Wednesday of the scheduled month.

Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC)
The Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) is an ad hoc committee that meets when the Calhoun Area MPO Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan is being updated. The BPAC includes representatives from the Northeast Alabama Bicycle Association (NEABA), interested members of the Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC), local law enforcement, municipal planning staff, interested elected officials, Parks and Recreation Department directors, local bicycle shop owners, agencies serving youth and teenagers, and local bicycling advocates.
Individuals interested in participating in the BPAC may contact MPO staff for additional information.
Formal Amendment Public Involvement Meetings
Formal Amendment Public Involvement Meetings are held when required to support major amendments to MPO plans or programs, such as the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) or Long-Range Transportation Plan (LRTP).
These meetings are scheduled only when a formal amendment is necessary and public input is required.
