MPO MEETINGS
All Calhoun Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) meetings are open to the public.

MPO Policy Committee
The MPO Policy Committee is the decision-making body for transportation planning in the Calhoun Area MPO.
Each participating municipality—Anniston, Hobson City, Jacksonville, Oxford, and Weaver—is represented by its mayor and one city council member. Calhoun County is represented by the County Commission chair and one county commissioner. Voting members also include the EARPDC Executive Director and the ALDOT East Central Region Engineer.
The MPO Policy Committee meets every other month unless otherwise noted. Meetings are held at 10:00 a.m. and typically occur on the third Thursday of the scheduled month.

Technical Advisory Committee (TAC)
The Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) provides technical advice and recommendations to the MPO Policy Committee. Its members include engineers, planners, transit representatives, and professional staff from the MPO’s member jurisdictions and participating agencies.
The TAC meets every other month, unless otherwise noted. Meetings begin at 10:00 a.m. and typically occur on the second Wednesday of the scheduled month.

Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC)
The Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) provides a formal opportunity for residents to offer public input on transportation plans, programs, and projects.
CAC members are appointed to represent the MPO’s member jurisdictions: Anniston, Hobson City, Jacksonville, Oxford, Weaver, and Calhoun County. Smaller jurisdictions are allocated at least three seats, while jurisdictions with populations over 5,000 are allocated approximately one seat for every 1,750 residents. The committee currently has 43 designated seats, some of which may be vacant.
Residents interested in serving should contact the MPO Policy Committee representative for the jurisdiction in which they reside. Municipal CAC members are appointed by the mayor of their municipality. Members representing unincorporated Calhoun County are appointed by the Calhoun County Commission chair.

Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC)
The Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) is an ad hoc committee convened when the Calhoun Area MPO Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan is being developed or updated.
The BPAC may include representatives from the Northeast Alabama Bicycle Association (NEABA), interested CAC members, law enforcement agencies, municipal planning departments, parks and recreation departments, elected officials, bicycle shop owners, organizations serving youth, and local bicycling and pedestrian advocates.
Individuals interested in participating may contact MPO staff for additional information.
Formal Amendment Public Involvement Meetings
Formal Amendment Public Involvement Meetings are held when public participation is required for a major amendment to an MPO plan or program, such as the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) or Long-Range Transportation Plan (LRTP).
These meetings are scheduled as needed. When a meeting is scheduled, the date, time, location, and instructions for submitting public comments will be posted in this section.
